Weekly Balboa Classes

Current Series (June 3, 10, 17, 24)

  • Intermediate (must have prior experience)
  • Advanced (must have years of experience)

The Intermediate series will focus on modern that are commonly part of the Balboa dancer’s repertoire, including rhythm variations and stylings. Pre-Req: At least 3 months of Balboa classes.

The Advanced series will mostly build on the material taught in the intermediate series with more complex variations on the moves, and more rhythm and stylings. Students at this level have taken weekly Balboa classes for at least 1 year.

Stardust Slow Balboa Weekend 2026

November 20-22, 2026

This is weekend event in DC focused on Slow Balboa, a style of Balboa from the 1930s/40s done in Southern California.

There are Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Masters level classes throughout the weekend. No experience or partner needed.

There are social dances in the evening in the historic Glen Echo Park Spanish Ballroom with live music Friday & Saturday nights.

You can attend the whole weekend (classes & dances) or just the evening dance(s).

We held our yearly Pre-DCLX Fast Feet dance!

Workshop in Columbus, OH 2026

Special Workshop in Columbus, OH!!!

April 18th from 1-5:30pm and dance 8-11pm

We held a 1-day workshop for folks to learn or refresh their Balboa fundamentals! After the classes, we had a 30min practice and an evening social dance!

Slow Balboa Workshop in Richmond 2026

We were invited by RVA Swing to teach a Slow Balboa workshop in Richmond, VA that included beginner and intermediate classes. Connor DJed the evening social dance afterwards.

Dean & Jewel Lindy Hop Workshop with David & Kate 2025

We held a Lindy Hop workshop on Dec. 6th to learn Dean Collins & Jewel McGowan’s southern California style Lindy Hop.  The workshop was taught by special guests David Rehm and Kate Hedin, international instructors who specialize in this style of Lindy Hop dancing.

Stardust Slow Balboa Weekend 2025

The only whole-weekend workshop dedicated to the Slow Balboa dance form in North America is back for a second year! This year we had more live music, more class levels, more instructors, more competitions, and more dancers in the beautiful and historic Glen Echo Park Spanish Ballroom.

Slow Balboa Workshop at Glen Echo Park Sep 2025

Slow Balboa is an expressive way of slow dancing and one of our favorite dance styles. We host an entire weekend dedicated to it in November you can register for above.

We held a slow balboa weekend workshop in D.C. in September 2025, and we had over 30 people come out and learn from Amanda and Connor at Glen Echo Park, and we joined over 200 dancers at a social dance that evening.

Balboa Bootcamp and Int/Adv Workshop July 2025

We held a weekend workshop in DC with guest instructors, Teni Lopez-Cardenas and David Rehm. We had over 70 people come out and learn Balboa and over 150 dancers at a social dance that evening.

Bal Week New York Weekend Workshop 2025

We taught a full-weekend workshop (beginner through masters level Balboa classes) in New York City and judged multiple competitions.

Bal Week in one of the largest Balboa events in the US, with international instructors and attendees from all over the world.

Stardust Slow Balboa Workshop Weekend 2024

We sold out the first and only Slow Balboa weekend event in the US. Folks from across the country joined us for classes, social dancing to live music, and competitions. The event was such a hit, we held it again in 2025, with even more classes, competitions, and a Big Band at the historic Glen Echo Park ballroom.

Weekend Balboa Workshop June 2024

We held our first weekend workshop in D.C. on June 1st 2024! We had over 70 people come out and learn Balboa from Bobby and Annabel and Amanda and Connor at Glen Echo Park, and we joined over 200 dancers at a social dance that evening.
